Once you have checked the newly arrived stock against your invoice to ensure that the order is complete, add the barcodes to the individual discs that will become a part of your rental inventory.
- Go to the Add Stock tab, which will redirect you to a new page (as illustrated above).
- Scan the barcode in the Item Barcode section.
- Under Title Name, enter the beginning of the title as the system will make further suggestions; select the correct title so that it appears in the Title Name box. Alternatively, it is possible to scan the retail barcode (on cover of DVD) in the Retail Barcode box, if this barcode is already in the system, it will automatically come up with the title. However, not all retail barcodes are within the system yet.
- Select the correct release (i.e., Standard (DVD), Special Edition, Blu-ray, etc).
- Once this is done, simply click on Check In, and the disc will automatically be added you your virtual inventory.
Furthermore, when adding older titles to the system, ensure that the box No is checked in the section: Have you just received this as a new-to-market Release? Any movie checked in as yes in response to this question, will automatically display in your New Releases page, as opposed to the Just Added page.
Filing in drawers can be simplified if you create a document which contains exactly which titles and how many (copy depth) need a label, and then print off the labels once a week. Organization is key in running a productive and efficient store.
